Seeking qualified speakers for Just Ask events

The Just Ask Prevention Project is in the process of selecting speakers for training events this spring.  If you know of a nationally-recognized speaker on human trafficking whom you would like to recommend, please contact Chris Davies with the Fairfax County Office for Women & Domestic and Sexual Violence Services: chris.davies@fairfaxcounty.gov.

  1. I’m president of the Born2Fly Project to stop child trafficking, an international organization working in dozens of countries around the world to reach kids before the traffickers do. We accomplish this through a strategic 6-week community program that educates children, teens, and their parents about the dangers of child trafficking and the tactics that traffickers use. Our age-appropriate curriculums are in English, Spanish, Thai, Russian, Mandarin, Hindi, and more. All our materials are available for free download on our website, http://www.born2fly.org. Nearly 400 organizations in 65 countries have registered to teach B2F to their children. For example, we recently worked with a non-profit in Nepal to sponsor the first-ever train-the-trainer anti-trafficking workshops in Kathmandu, a hotbed of child trafficking. I’m also a member of the Greater Orlando (Florida) Human Trafficking Task Force and co-chair of the education subcommittee; GOHTTF is a collaboration of dozens of non-profits, law enforcement, government agencies, victim service providers, and others all working together to end human trafficking.

I would love to speak at a Just Ask event about the need for prevention training. Rescues are absolutely critical of course, but at the same time we must cut off the supplyline of children or we’ll never end this horror. Our goal is to reach kids before the traffickers do; I’d love to share with Just Ask about how we can do that.
